Happy Teachers' Day 2013

Hola! Before I talk about the celebration of Teachers' Day, I wanna tell how I became a tutor 1st =) Beware! It's the longest crap story ever! =p

One of my major course in this sem is called Franchise Management. The lecturer asked us to invite a manager from any franchise company to give a talk in UMS. It's the group assignment. I admit that it's not easy to find a manager who willing to give talk for students.

On 14th MayI went to Big Apple Donuts & Coffee office which located at Kingfisher (my hostel place) to invite the manager. Unfortunately the manager wasn't around and I asked the contact number from the staff. Then I contact the manager immediately and she rejected me immediately too lol.

After that, I saw a tuition centre named MRC just beside the office of Big Apple. My mind was thinking "Oh man! So lucky!" I'm pretty sure it's a franchise company. I entered and asked a teacher whether the manager was around or not. The answer is no. It's OK. I never expect the manager is in the office since we went so many franchise outlets. Never meet a manager before. Sure. I asked the contact number of MRC manager. The manager, Mr Ho is so friendly and we can communicate very well because we talked Chinese lols. He said he can give talk in Chinese only and his slides also in Chinese. I told him nevermind. I can translate to English. Then he suggested me to ask another English tuition centre also in Kingfisher area.

So I went to a English tuition centre called Global English Centre. Oh Man! The manager was there! He invited me to his room. I asked him Global English Centre is franchise company or not. He answered me "no". Manager was there also no use =(

After that I moved to Global Art. It's a tuition centre teaching Arts. A teacher answered me Global Art is a franchise company. She wasn't so friendly. I had phone call with the manager. The manager asked the teacher give me his email. But at the end the teacher din't SMS me. Never mind. I love challenge!

Lastly, I came to a tuition centre called UK English. The door was closed but I saw a man sitting in the office and I knocked the glass. Luckily he realized me. I asked him whether he is the manager of UK English or not. He said no, he is the owner of the place. He rent out the place to UK English. I told him I want to invite the manager to give a franchise talk. Then he said "Oh! Are you Entrepreneurship student? I'm your junior from UMS business school but different course. I know xxx. He also asked me about UK English before. But I think UK English is not franchise company."

Since Mr Ho (MRC) told me UK English is a franchise company. So I thought is better to wait the UK English teacher come at 7pm. I waited at there almost two hours. Before 7pm, another man (the brother of my junior) came and asked me why I waited for UK English. I explained to him. Then he said the teacher is not under UK English anymore. My face expression was showing "har?!"

The brother of my junior called Andy (he was graduated from UMS business school). I was quite upset and I asked Andy whether he has any friends is working in franchise company. He said "Yes. Let me think first." He called to his friend, (the owner of Chicco). His friend said he need to think first.

Then Andy told me "I have a friend. He guarantee want to give talk." His friend (Ronald) is the agent of Great Eastern. But I'm quite sure Great Eastern isn't a franchise company. It's just an insurance company. Anyway I requested Andy to call Ronald. The answer of Ronald is "no problem". But Andy have to confirm with Ronald again because he was having a meeting in Sandakan.

Before I left, Andy asked me have interest to teach in tuition centre or not. His tuition centre needs tutor. I said no problem since I've interest. Of course I also wish to help him back. He is my 贵人really =) So I followed him to his tuition centre (walking distance) to have a look.

Andy asked me to filled in the tutor application form. I met Ms Lai (a graduated Master student from UMS and also Andy's gf) in the tuition centre.

After settle all the things, I went home with happy mood =) That's the process of how I became a tutor lols.

The next day 15th May, after I woke up and I called Andy to confirm that Ronald want to give talk or not. Andy said yes and he gave my number to Ronald already and he will call me soon. Meanwhile, Andy asked me to replace a tutor to teach KH on that night. I said no problem.

After that I called Ronald to confirm again. Thanks God! He said yes! I asked him to meet up at tuition centre after the KH class. This was my 1st time as a tutor. I teach one Form 1 girl only. Oh! I forgot to take photo with her! I'm too nervous! >.< What I realized is that teenagers now very pandai argue. (bok zui) haha!

After the class was 9pm, Ronald came tuition centre on time. He was graduated from UMS business school also. I asked him some questions (background, experience, Great Eastern and etc). He also admit that Great Eastern is not a franchise company. But we can't do anything because the next 2 days is the talk already.

Another group was invited Perodua to give a talk before, but lecturer din't complaint anything. So my group also thought nevermind la, as long as we found a person who willing to give a talk. If not we get 0 mark =(

After finish the interview with Ronald. I left tuition centre with Andy and Ms Lai. I went to the car park and they went to their restaurant to collect money. Ms Lai told Andy "Oh ya! tmr is Teachers' Day! We gonna have a steamboat party." Then I just realized that the next day is Teacher's Day. Before I left them, Ms Lai told me that she will SMS to me if they really can make it. Andy also said must come.

Okay! I really talk so many crap in this post. Now I just wanna talk about the celebration =p

The next day 16th May, I woke up and saw this sweet message. I think other tutors didn't know it was not only a simple meeting haha.

I meet up with Ronald at 8pm to see his presentation slides. After that I went to tuition centre. All the tutors were sitting at there. Some of them were guessing what is the purpose of this meeting. Of course I didn't tell them hehe.

Boss and Ms Lai gave us paper and asked all the tutors write down the answer of 2 questions.

1. Tuition centre should make any improvements in the future?

2. Tutors should get any welfare in the future?

When boss asked the second question, tutors were very excited. They shouted "naik gaji! ipad! Boss I want ipad!" hahaha! I didn't shout like them lah since I'm the newest tutor.

After we passed up the papers. Boss said "Actually today is Teacher's Day. The purpose I asked you all to come is to celebrate it. Let's go to my restaurant now =)

Then the tutors only knew it was a surprise. If Ms Lai didn't tell me about the steamboat on that night. I also won't know. This boss couple is too generous =)

So we walked to their restaurant called Chatter's Place in Kingfisher. It's just behind the tuition centre. Since I know they are going to have a party, I was bringing my camera =)

The man who wearing red colour shirt is my boss, Andy =)

Steamboat with rice cooker =)

Some of the foods =)

Grapes juice =)

The dumpling made by boss' mother =)

See! My 2 bosses were cooking for us. What a nice boss haha!

Some of the tutors =)

The aunty who wearing yellow shirts is boss' mum =)

After eating the steamboat, it was the cake session! =) Actually I didn't eat too much because I had my Pizza Hut dinner with Ronald already.

Group photos! Most of the tutors are studying in UMS now =)

The reason we laughed so hard because the camera man said something funny. But I forgot what he told us ald lols

After that is the lucky draw session! The uncle wearing green shirt is boss' dad. Too generous party =')

Each person was given a number before the lucky draw. There was 3 lucky winners on that night.

Haha! I was one of the winner! The prize is RM10 which sponsored by uncle =)

Then the boss took out a bottle of Whisky, Coke and some ice cubes. He keep on asking us to drink.

See the girl Hui Sin pointing boss and said him teach us drink beer 为人师表,教坏我们。hahaha!

Cheers!!! The taste of Whisky mixed with Coke is really nice! =D

I can't believe that uncle asked us to play cards after that. Haha! =D

Finally I met my gang in Sabah! =D

Lastly show you the group photos again =)

Laughed hard again because the camera man told us the same joke again. Haha!

I think I'm lucky enough because I just started to teach but I can celebrate the Teachers' Day with all the tutors and boss =')

Lastly on 17th May, we finally made the talk successfully! =D

So the purple guy sitting in the middle is Ronald =)

Thanks God! I Love You!
Sanight peepoo! =)
